NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Distinguished national security litigator, diplomat, and strategist Ambassador David Pressman returns to Jenner & Block, bringing decades of experience in complex international disputes both as a lawyer representing clients in high-stakes crises and as a senior government official. Ambassador Pressman has worked under three US Presidents in senior government positions related to national security and law enforcement. He has twice been confirmed by the United States Senate, most recently as US Ambassador to Hungary in 2022, having previously served as US Ambassador to the United Nations Security Council and as Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security leading the Department's Office of Policy Development. In these roles, he directed missions comprised of dozens of government departments and agencies, led US negotiations on international disputes around the world, and shaped policy on the full gamut of national and homeland security matters, including transnational crime, sanctions, export controls, cybersecurity, and foreign investment in the United States. Ambassador Pressman also served on the White House National Security Council and was the founding executive director of the Clooney Foundation for Justice.

He has served as lead counsel on cutting-edge national security litigation spanning dozens of jurisdictions and presenting novel immunity, state secrets, and related claims; represented major corporations and prominent individuals in sensitive matters including high-stakes congressional investigations, international litigation, and crisis situations.
Ambassador Pressman received his BA from Brown University and graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from New York University School of Law, where he was later honored as a distinguished alumnus in 2014. He will be based in Jenner & Block's New York office.
