- Specialty Demand Intensifying: Hospital-based and surgical specialties represented 67.2 percent of all academic provider searches, led by anesthesiology, obstetrics and gynecology, and pathology.
- Experience Driving Hiring: In-practice clinicians made up 77 percent of academic and leadership placements, including 86.7 percent of leadership hires, underscoring the need for stronger development pathways and retention strategies.
- Leadership Mobility Rising: Nearly 50 percent of academic executives are open to new opportunities, citing compensation and advancement as key motivators. 41 percent of academic physicians are open to new job opportunities, though only 23.9 percent would change immediately.
- Clinical Faculty Roles Central: Clinical faculty positions comprised 62.2 percent of all academic placements, affirming their continued importance within institutional missions of education, research, and patient care.
