62% of Healthcare Leaders Say Fragmented Data Is Blocking AI Scale, New Innovaccer Report Finds
Report reveals that while 63% of organizations now run AI in live workflows, data fragmentation is emerging as the top barrier to enterprise-scale impact across documentation, access, and revenue cycle operations.

Innovaccer Inc. a leading healthcare AI company, today released its State of Revenue Lifecycle in Healthcare 2026 report, based on a survey of 150 US healthcare professionals across 103 organizations. The peer-reviewed report, validated by Frost & Sullivan, finds that AI has firmly moved into live healthcare workflows, but fragmented data environments are now the primary constraint on scaling its impact.
The report examines how healthcare organizations are moving from AI experimentation to real-world deployment, while highlighting how fragmented data environments are increasingly limiting consistent, enterprise-scale impact across documentation, access, and revenue cycle operations.
Key findings include:
- 63% report AI integrated into at least one workflow; 52% have expanded implementation across departments; 45% have established AI governance or ethics structures.
- 62% cite fragmented data systems as the top barrier to scaling AI, ahead of staffing constraints, model transparency, and budget limitations.
- Leaders report up to 40% reduction in documentation time, with the strongest gains when AI is embedded into core systems and aligned to coding and revenue workflows.
- AI adoption concentrates first in high-volume workflows: workflow automation (52%), documentation support (46%), scheduling and access (41%), and revenue cycle automation (38%).
- Most organizations remain early in maturity, with 70% self-classifying as early to mid-stage and 8% at enterprise scale.
